I had a weaving lesson today.

I had my first class and brought my loom along to Jo Grande's home. Seven of us came to the beginners class, we sat in her conservatory better light and with a big beautiful flower climber above us.

We brought our projects with us, two of landscapes of greenery and sky, worked in an embroidery hoop, another of three frogs one on top of the other with big colourful eyes, a comical and striking picture! The other three were weaving with thick wool and other fabrics onto board, a striped rug, a line of washing with flowers in the foreground and the other of boats.

I managed to thread my loom with strong linen thread. Then I had a bigger board which everyone has and wrapped the warp around the width and knotted the ends all along to stop the weft from coming over the other side, handy to learn! To make weaving quicker, thicker and colourful you weave five threads together called Rannuu of 4ply or 3ply or any other fabric in the same thickness. There are other weaving ways to learn. I have this picture of a seascape which I may try to weave into a picture!

Finished bag and small weaving loom

I submitted this to Craftjuice  today and would love some votes if you would like to vote for it. Thank you.
The Pinterest link for weaving on Small looms

This is made with flower cotton fabric with hessian at he top and shoulder straps, a rust coloured cotton lining with two pockets, hessian and fabric to match the bag. It has a suede loop stitched on the back with a button to close. The big pocket has a green Velcro to close.
This is my finished bag just listed today in my Etsy Shop      Craftycreate
It measures 15"x15" and is tapered with a 4" gusset at the bottom.

I found a small loom at a outdoor market and can't wait to use and get weaving something.
I found this Pinterest board with lots of small loom weaving projects to give me a few ideas.

Small looms

I am making a two tone bag.

I am making a bag with a colourful cotton fabric with hessian on the top and the shoulder straps.
It has a plaited suede loop on the font with a button to close.

I have a rust coloured lining with a small fabric pocket the same material as the bag and a larger hessian pocket lined with the same material.

I just have to add the label to the lining and lining to the bag which will have white top stitch, add shoulder straps, stitch on the loop and sew on the button. Photograph it and add to my Craftycreate Shop. Yay another original to add my eclectic mix.

It is at the putting together stage it will need an iron. I like the rustic look with the smooth material combined with the hessian and the colours and texture of the lining and pockets.

Material with zips on a roll.

I found this lovely material while on the look out for small zips for coin purses. I found a haberdashery shop that sold zips on a roll with two colour choices of cream or dark red I bought four 3.5" in cream. It works out much cheaper, about £1.46 if I remember.

The material I found were a pair of curtains that caught my eye in a charity shop. I like the different patterns. I can see coin purses, a kindle, iPad, gadget cases maybe a cushion or two, definitely a bag which will look really good with these pattern combinations
