Ear Flap Hat and A Craft Fair

I made this hat to add to my collection with this pattern it's knitted with a bulky pure cream new wool and so is quick to knit up. I like how easy it is to add this icord at the end by picking up and knitting the stitches as you go. This should be so warm and cosy to wear. My fuchsias and pink flowers look good spread out in their pot. I am at another craft fair at Heartlands this weekend.

Unwind Wrap and a Craft Fair

I have made this knitted shawl using this pattern with oddments of coloured Mohair I had then ordered a few more in a finer texture so had a mix throughout and so pleased how it all blended together. I made a couple more matching table coasters to make a set and put them in cellophane bags for the craft fair. I was pleased that I sold a few items at this craft fair at Heartlands including a bag, purse and a make up bag, one lady in particular like my cushions and bought the crochet edging pair, she wanted to buy the blue patchwork but didn't have enough cash on her could not pay by card as I did not have a card machine, she took my business card. My sister did well too and it was a hot summery day so a good day all round.

A Daisy Bag and A Craft Fair

I found a big ball of thick yellow wool at a charity shop then decided to make a bag with it. I made a big square and a smaller piece for the front and joined them together I highlighted the front panel with a daisy flower in embroidery silks, with French knots in the middle chain stitches for the petals a running stitch for the leaves,stems. I am having a few blond streaks put in my hair this week by the way to jazz it up a bit, so not all grey hair. I went to a craft fair and as you can see I have a lot of knits and crochet items, two crochet cardigans a cushion, purse and pink flower bag in a seed stitch. I have come to the conclusion prices need to be a big feature on a stall table with noticable prices on show and as the lady next to me has a board with her pricing in the middle and at the front of her table. I put little price tags on my items but that's not enough, prices should be clearly seen. I began to feel that my items were just for show a showcasing of what I'd made ha! And I admired a crafters display of crafts in cellophane so professional, the next day this lady brought in a few of those bags for me, a nice surprise, you can see them in my stall photo. I do feel a bit timid about selling though but I will price and display better another time. A lady bought my orange flower Retro bag for £6 she said the price should be higher and as it was Retro. The table was free for the two days, so no loss. People gave me nice compliments about the items and a little girl really wanted to buy the mohair pink flower seed stitch bag, but her mother told me she has loads of bags already otherwise she would have bought it, oh dang! My sister had a stall too she did very well selling her wears, people do love her colourful jewellery and scented candles in cups!

Two Shawls and Purse

I have made two shawls one crocheted and the other knitted, the pattern for the crochet shawl is here from my last weeks blog post. I made this shawl this week with a multicolour acrylic yarn and this pattern and is easy and quick to knit and an ideal pattern for multicolour yarn. I knitted a swatch a while ago with super chunky yarn now made into a purse with a zip and lining. I am making small items like this purse to take to a craft fair next weekend with my sister Diane, who makes jewellery and scented candles in cups, we have a free stall each for the two days! Yay!! Rag Rug and Coasters

I was getting ready to do a craft fair on Saturday at Hellys and did not crochet or knit a finished item. I did crochet a few squares last week that I think I might make into a blanket, perhaps maybe. I sold a rag rug which I knitted a while ago, the lady who bought it loved it and said quite a lot of work must have gone into it, and it did as the coloured fabrics had to be cut into strips and knotted together then knitted on big needles. Knitting with cotton material was harder to do as it is less easy to manage to knit with than yarns. I was pleased I carried on with it as it grew bigger and it became a colourful rag rug. I have a photo of it as a banner on my blog, my Etsy and Folksy Shops, my Weebly website and on business cards. I will keep it on there now it is sold, as it looks good. I also sold at the craft fair a set of four cotton crochet coasters too so, a good day at the craft fair.

Felt and A Craft Fair

I did a craft fair yesterday at Helston it was very busy the first 20 people through the door were given a goody bag. I sold the crochet hat I just recently made a little girl loved it and wanted to wear it. And another little girl showed her mum a mug with one of my mug cosies that she really liked. I made last week a cream and blue crochet mobile phone case which you can pick out in the photos I also made a pair of fingerless gloves as one of a few presents which I sent to my sister in law but forgot to photograph them. I had a second table as my sister had a cold and could not go so I put my cushions on her table and sold one a patchwork one. There was singing by a very talented lady with a strong voice and only 13 years old I later found out on Hellys Craft Fair Facebook page. I painted a few fruit boxes as displays instead of just eveything spread on the table. I think that they were okay, though I saw some people had wooden folding shelves which I was told you could buy on Ebay. So all in all it turned out to be a very sucessfull craft fair for everyone. Tea coffee and biscuits were provided free with a small donation. Next Friday myself and OH are going to Surrey to stay for the Christmas with my two daughters. I don't know if I will be getting much knitting or crocheting done, though I may do a little. When I got home from the Craft Fair a lovely surprise was waiting for me, a lovely selection of felt, with a pretty card that I had won on Janine's Wool on Sundays a One Year prize Give Away
