Door Mat
Here is the finished door mat. It measures 14" x 28" I didn't want it too wide as it is leads from a small utility room so the length and nearly the width of the door would look just right.
Some have said I should have it as a wall hanging as it is too good for a door mat. Although I wouldn't have it stepped on. It does look good by the door and adds brightness to the room, we'll see!
This is the back. It is knitted with stripes of t shirts on 6mm needles and 30 stitches in stocking stitch.

Knitting a Door Mat
I have started making a door mat it will probably be mine and to put at my back door. It is about 13" length with 30 cast on stitches and about the width of the door though not as wide. I quite like the mix of colours and how it is taking shape with different lengths of strips making the pattern. It is knitted in stocking stitch, plain and purl.
I could have finished it in no time if it were not tee shirts strips I was knitting with as these take more effort to knit, the texture is nice and firm though. Then there is the cutting tee shirts into about one inch strips which I quite like as I have a nice sharp scissors with which to do it. I think I have about ten inches to do so won't take too long. And it cost practically nothing to make as I used old tee shirts from a charity shop. I am all for recycling and up cycling into something else useful and good.

Two Mandala Cushions and a New Craft Fair
I made this crochet star flower Mandala cushion this week. It is stitched to a green cotton material and attached to a green and yellow patterned cotton for the back. It has a zip to close. I made a cushion pad with muslin and filled it with a soft polyester stuffing.
I went to a new craft fair in Helston Cornwall last week and sold this crochet Mandala cushion.
I sold a few other items as well so well worth doing and there is another in October and December. They have a Facebook page so good advertising and lots of people came to see.
