A Mandala Cushion and Bowl

I have completed the Mandala and added a soft yellow cotton circle for the back. I made the inside circular cushion pad as I'd polyester stuffing and a few yards of muslin. I like the fullness around the edge which then decreases in stitches for the yellow circle on the back. The Mandala which was getting wider as I was crocheting it has been rescued and made into this cushion. It measures 18" x 18" plus the sides make 24" Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos I came across this weaving with a Hula Hoop on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a go. The biggest hoop I found is a size 29" the recommended size for a small rug is 33" I may get a larger size. I made this little bowl with strips of old t-shirts. I think these colours go pretty together and like the rustic look. This hoop weaving is very easy to do and doesn't take long to make something. I have not done much weaving before this now I will make other small items with the Hula Hoop. Baby Blanket and a Mandala

I have finished the pinks and cream baby blanket.I like how it turned out. I have added a cream border with the same stitch pattern as the blanket all round and added two cotton crochet flowers in each corner. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos I have begun making my first Mandala although it became rather wide as I went along. I must learn to count the stitches as I go. It will be a circular cushion with probably a cotton backing. I have two rows more to do. I love the colours and various patterns of Mandalas that came up on a Google search. The green is brighter than it appears in this photo that I took with my iPad camera. Baby Blanket nearly finished and a Craft Fair

Here is the pink and cream baby blanket almost finished just a few rows more and just a few crocheted flowers to make and attach. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos I did a craft fair on Wednesday and you can see at least five items have been knitted or crocheted by me, a rag rug knitted, two blues knitted bag, cream knitted bag with primary colours, a crochet granny squares bag, and a pink crochet cushion. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos I sold two bags a green patchwork you can see and a patchwork bright colour bag on top the rug, a needle case with a tree in autumn colour out of sight behind the purses. I had a lot of interest in my makes and would like to do another one soon. Barts Heart Centre And some other fab news this week I'd like to share is I am very proud to say that my daughter has just passed her MRCP exam and is now a member of the Royal College of Physicians. She is one of the first doctors who will have the honour to work at the amazing new Barts Heart Centre @NHSBartsHealth in 2015

A pink baby blanket

I have wool left over from my striped Afghan and decided to use it to make a baby blanket in pinks and cream for a girl I may also do a blues and cream for a boy. I used the same two row pattern as the Afghan for it is a nice and thick stitch. I will crochet a few flowers to add to it too in the same acrylic yarn or in a cotton yarn that I have in blue, pink, and white depending on what looks best. It measures 30" in width I don't know how long it will be yet. Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
