Blogtoberfest #31: Luxury Mohair Hat and Scarf

It says Luxury Mohair on the brand label so that's what I called my hat and scarf set.
I didn't know how best to display the hat then I thought of the pack of balloons I have and luckily there was a white one. It makes a good hat model!

Blogtoberfest #27 My Pop up Shop was a success!

These are a few photographs of my pop up shop today at my home. A few villagers turned out and all bought something and we had tea, coffee and cakes. I just missed getting it advertised in the local paper but still sold three bags, four mobile phone sleeves and a flowered cushion!

My items looked so nice arranged around the house, it looked like a real shop and wouldn't they look good in a real shop too!

Blogtoberfest #19: I advertised my pop up shop today.

I have advertised today my Open House a Pop up Shop for next Saturday the 27th October 2012 starting at 10am until 4pm.

I want to sell my bags and crafts. I will be serving refreshments, delicious cakes, tea and coffee.
I advertised it in the local paper, Pirate fm, Cornwall Arts and Crafts Directory, Facebook and Twitter.

I am going to give this a go and enjoy it and if no one turns up, it is in the depths of the countryside and people may not have the money to spend, I will have an extra clean house with lots of lovely cakes to eat on the bright side.

Blogtoberfest #18: Back of rug and art gallery photos.

This rug is neatly finished off and would make a good buy for any one who wishes to purchase it, if I decided to sell it!
Backing on Rug.
I went to Falmouth and in the library upstairs is an art gallery and on display on walls and floor was surrealist art and this colourful item caught my eye. Also the lady with the birds in the Polly in Falmouth  a mixed media crafts.

Blogtoberfest #16: Only eight more rows to do.

I only have eight rows now to do and to put a backing on it. I have forty hooked strips in each row and there are fortyfour rows. I've used nineteen t shirts so far.

Now that I know how much material I need the next time I would get the amount required first and if using t shirts cut seams then strips see the colour order I want to use then start hooking. I would be better organised.

Blogtoberfest Day #8: I've added a few more rows to my rag rug.

This rag rug cost me nothing to make, so far. I cut up old t shirts that I didn't want, the sack I've had for a while meaning to make a rug with it. Now I want to find more colourful reasonably  priced t shirts.

Blogtoberfest Day #7: I craft during the week and have weekends off.

I do my sewing making my crafty items during the week and on Saturdays I volunteer  in a charity shop. It's interesting  working there as  I am in charge of the shop for the morning. I vacuum and tidy and sort the donated items that people bring in while there and serve the customers.

On Sundays myself and OH go to a car boot sale.
Here are a few items I picked up today. Two pretty pictures and colourful cotton material and a bright yellow t shirt that I will cut up in strips for my rag rug.

I have added a couple more colours to the Rag Rug

Blogtoberfest Day #6: I have started making a rag rug

I am making this rug for myself I am not selling it. I  did think of making one with strips cut from colourful plastic bags but I thought it would be easier to use colourful t shirts.
This is the start of the the first strip  it will be cheerful and colourful with lots of rainbow colours

Blogtoberfest Day #5: The book I am reading at the moment.

I am enjoying reading this book  Life with the lid off  by Nicola Hodgkinson. I am a quarter of the way through so far.

It's about a newly single woman left with her three children to bring up alone.

She buys a gypsy wagon and a horse called Doris and moves to a cottage by the sea.

It is frank and moving true story.

It was published in 2010 and  won The People's Author award.
