Little purses for your loose change

I finished these little purses today and listed them in my Folksy Shop. These are just ideal to carry your loose change and or cards. I made one for myself too.

Bought today at a car boot sale

I found a selection of squares in a bag of remnants and also pretty linings. I discovered a packet of spools among some haberdashery. I spied a pin cushion just what I need. I was going to make one, which I'd like to, but this saves me having to for the moment. I found this lovely thick wool cardigan and what a bargain. I bought a few buttons too.

I do  like a rummage at a car boot sale you can pick up some nice things.

Boxes of stuff at the charity shop

These are the boxes of stuff that greeted me outside the charity shop today where I work on Saturday mornings. There are big plant holders, pretty flower wall plaques, glassware, sets of plates and circular brass mirror. There was even a bag of windfall eating apples. I shall enjoy the sorting and displaying them. A few bags of clothes were brought into the shop too while I was there. We get a lot of quality things donated sometimes new. Two boys came in and looked at games and racquets and picked a pair of online skates which we sold to them for only £1.00 they were pleased with their bargain! We sometimes have so much stock that we have to sell it cheaply.

More linings to my collection.

I picked up these few yards of linings today. This is my incentive to have another tidy up of my bag of linnings and maybe even buy a new container for them all.

photo 21 challenge weather

Tomato container
Evergreen bush
Posted by PicasaWhen I peeped out the backdoor this morning it was raining.

Then this afternoon the weather cleared up, this is my evergreen outside the backdoor with the sun shining through, so I couldn't say it was just raining!

A bag I am working on.

This is one of the bags that I am working on at the moment I am quite pleased with. It is orange fabric two thickness with dark brown cord stripes. I have a pale green cotton lining with pockets. I will make brown or orange straps, or both. I am wondering whether to keep the bottom gusset brown or orange. I will decide and it will be made soon for my Folksy shop.

I am out this morning working one morning a week in a charity shop which has just had a refurbishment so I will be interested to see what it looks like. All the volunteers do one shift of three hours on their own, so are responsible for taking donations, displaying goods, tidying and using the till. I feel like its my shop for a few hours!

Photo challenge 20 A different perspective.

A glass light fitment with energy efficient light bulb in the hall and the back of the stairs.

A different perspective.

I had a light bulb moment with an idea for the bag Cord Patchwork. I was walking past a newly refurbished public library and loved the building colour and stone work. I thought I have cord material and pretty cottons and this Cord Patchwork is the result.

Photo 18 Looking down. Photo19 Looking up

I am taking two more photos today to keep up with all the others on the photo challenge.

Looking up. In the garden.

Trees from garden

Posted by PicasaThis photo was taken from my sewing room you can see the two opened windows. This blue container is a make-do water butt that was made to keep silage in. My husband got it for free and beside that you can just see a little of our compost bin too.

Looking down.

Our garden taken from above

You can see this is a misty day over the rooftops to the fields beyond. This is usually a sign of heat and means it's going to be a hot and sunny day when the mist lifts.

Macro photo 16 and texture photo 17

I have been late with the photo challenge so I added two on one day to make up for it. I don't know if I have a macro on my camera. I took a close up of shells. I thought it would go well with my shells bag so I had to include that too!

Isn't the doll sweet? I saw it recently at a car boot and couldn't resist buying her she looked so cheerful and colourful sitting down on a table amongst the other items for sale. There are a few textures here, her hair which is fluffy and her skin which is smooth and shapes of her clothes. I am pleased that I had a chance to show it off on the challenge.

A favourite something from childhood photo challenge 15

A  selection of books
I have not got anything left from my childhood that I can show. I did have a favourite doll I loved and named Shirley. So I took a photo of a selection of favourite and well loved books from my two daughter's childhood. They are both in their twenties now and living away from home. One lives in London the other the youngest in Wales. I must have a clear out and give them to charity and become clutter free.

An embellishment or two!

DK Primary Colours

Orange Bag
A selection of fabrics

Colourful Ride In Ball

Posted by PicasaI thought I might add an embellishment or two knitting or crocheting a flower would look good. I usually just choose good fabric then a bag style, or it choses what it wants to be.

Some fabrics and bags are seen here.

I found this wool in a charity shop with shelves full of DK wool and other plys and unused with labels on. I picked these primary colours to start with. I knitted the orange first as you can see. I may add it to this Orange Bag.

I thought I'd add these colourful balls to the post too. Seen in Truro Town Lemon Quay.
