A bag I made today.

Cottage Garden
Pink Bag
A bag that's just the right size to swing on your shoulder and carry your bits and bobs. It has a roomy bottom gusset and a front decorative tab with magnetic fastening and button. It is lined in royal blue with pale blue pockets. The colour is a lot brighter than this it is the best my camera and I can do in the early evening. It is now sent off as a Christmas present to my sister-law.

Work in Progress.

This is a bag that I am making for my youngest daughter Fiona she chose the material when we had a look around the ABAKHAN store in Wales few weeks ago.

I hope she likes it. I just need to add the lining, strap and fastener. It has a lovely leaf pattern design on the fabric.

I am hoping to take clearer photos of my bags I have ordered a tripod, which should get rid of shadow, it was a lot cheaper than I thought.

The man who played the wolfman came to call!

Spencer Craig and husband

We are in my daughter's and her partners house in Prestatyn Wales. Craig met this man Spencer Wilding at his job in a resort nearby and brought him around to meet us. He starred in the Wolfman with Anthony Hopkins. He said to google his name he told us he played a part in a Harry Potter movie and other films. He said is 6ft 7in on a good day Craig is tall 6ft 2in. We shook hands I asked to take this photo and my husband is sitting down in the background.

Outside and under cover

Fabric Bundles

I am in Wales now seeing my family no sewing for nearly two weeks. Today we visited a ABAKHAN store in Mostyn a few miles away. I stocked up on rolls of fabric at only 60p a bundle and a bag full of cottons and buttons. There is lots of fabrics, wool, crafts, haberdashery and workshops. We enjoyed lunch there in the coffee house. It was a flying visit we will be back again soon for longer next time.

celebrate autumn colour

Orange Patchwork
I got the idea for this bag when I noticed the vibrant colours on a CD cover. I loved the orange tones with dark browns and white. I liked the ethnic feel and tried to recreate it with this bag Orange Patchwork.

I used this bright orange curtain material and used double thickness I added rich dark brown corduroy patchwork. I made pockets which close with velcro and stitched them to the front.  The finishing touch is this metal and white button. The bag has a crisp green/white cotton lining with matching pockets. These colours remind me of Autumn.

Choosing material for Christmas bunting.

I was looking through some material and found these pieces. I haven't made bunting before and would love to give it a try how exciting! It will so look colourful and festive strung along the mantlepiece this Christmas. I will have a go at making a table runner too, a first also.

Bought today at a car boot sale

I found a selection of squares in a bag of remnants and also pretty linings. I discovered a packet of spools among some haberdashery. I spied a pin cushion just what I need. I was going to make one, which I'd like to, but this saves me having to for the moment. I found this lovely thick wool cardigan and what a bargain. I bought a few buttons too.

I do  like a rummage at a car boot sale you can pick up some nice things.

Boxes of stuff at the charity shop

These are the boxes of stuff that greeted me outside the charity shop today where I work on Saturday mornings. There are big plant holders, pretty flower wall plaques, glassware, sets of plates and circular brass mirror. There was even a bag of windfall eating apples. I shall enjoy the sorting and displaying them. A few bags of clothes were brought into the shop too while I was there. We get a lot of quality things donated sometimes new. Two boys came in and looked at games and racquets and picked a pair of online skates which we sold to them for only £1.00 they were pleased with their bargain! We sometimes have so much stock that we have to sell it cheaply.

More linings to my collection.

I picked up these few yards of linings today. This is my incentive to have another tidy up of my bag of linnings and maybe even buy a new container for them all.
